Appreciative Inquiry

Appreciative Inquiry is a technique to construct a process that will derive positive possibilities from a group of individuals. It is the heart of the proposed visioning process for Oak Ridge. It builds on what works to indicate what will work in the future.

By coupling Appreciative Inquiry with a bottom-up, widely diverse and representative program of dialogue, participants will share good will with each other and will form bonds with other citizens seeking improvement in our city.

Pending...

The Oak Ridge City Council is currently meeting in a facilitated series of sessions to determine their own directions as a body. One item for discussion on their agenda is titled, "Engage the Community".

Hopefully that item will include a bottom-up vision process that will allow the members of the community to participate, contribute, discuss, rank and support various ideas that will arise from among themselves. When l know the Council's decision on adopting visioning for Oak Ridge, I will either contribute this blog to that effort or dedicate it to a grass-roots visioning effort if they do not.

Meanwhile, if you have ideas on moving Oak Ridge forward, please email me at EnvisionOR@gmail.com
